Guide
A provider credentialing checklist for new hires
Credentialing takes time, and a provider who is not enrolled cannot be paid. Start early and keep records in one place.
Start early
Payer timelines vary, and can be long. Begin as soon as a provider accepts the offer, not on the first day.
Documents to gather
- State license and DEA registration, if applicable.
- NPI number and a CAQH profile that is complete and current.
- Education, training and board certification details.
- Work history with no unexplained gaps.
- Malpractice insurance certificate.
- Practice details: tax ID, address and group NPI.
Track every application
Keep a simple sheet: payer, date submitted, who you spoke to, status and next follow-up date. Applications often stall without a nudge.
Do not bill before you are enrolled
Confirm the effective date with each payer before scheduling their patients. Our credentialing and enrollment service can run this process for you.
Arovia RCM does not guarantee collection outcomes. Please do not send patient information through the website or by email before agreements are signed.
