Unpaid insurance claims and old AR recovery
Most practices have older balances that were never fully worked. We take a fresh look, start with the largest and oldest, and show you what can still be collected.
Why old balances go unworked
When daily work is heavy, newer claims get the attention and older ones slide. Over time, those older balances become a backlog that no one wants to open. Some are still collectible, and some are not. The first step is knowing which is which.
What this service covers
- AR and revenue-leak audit: your unpaid claims sorted by age, payer and denial reason, to show where money is leaking.
- Old balance recovery: unpaid insurance balances from past months worked again, largest and oldest first.
- Rejection clean-up: claims rejected by the clearinghouse for errors are fixed and resubmitted before they age further.
- Underpayment review: payments compared with contracted rates to catch short payments.
How the work runs
- You share a report of open claims once the agreements are signed.
- We sort it and agree a priority list with you.
- We work the list, recording every action and answer.
- You get a weekly report showing what was recovered, what is pending and what is not worth more effort.
We are honest when a balance is past the point of recovery. You decide what to write off, with the facts in front of you.
A good first step
If you are not sure how big your backlog is, start with the audit. It gives you a baseline, and every later number is measured against it. Read how we work for the full path from first call to pilot.
Frequently asked questions
Can old insurance claims still be collected?
Sometimes. It depends on the payer’s time limits, the reason the claim was unpaid and the records available. An audit shows which claims are still worth pursuing.
What is a rejected claim, and how is it different from a denial?
A rejection usually means the claim was stopped for a data or format error before the payer accepted it, so it can be corrected and sent again. A denial means the payer processed the claim and refused to pay it.
What is an underpayment review?
It compares what the insurer paid with the rate in your contract, to catch short payments that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Do you guarantee how much will be recovered?
No. We never promise collection amounts. We promise the work, the tracking and a clear report.
Arovia RCM does not guarantee collection outcomes. Please do not send patient information through the website or by email before agreements are signed.
