Revenue cycle management services for independent practices
Revenue cycle management (RCM) is everything between a patient booking a visit and your practice receiving the final payment. We run the parts that slow practices down, and report on them every week.
What is revenue cycle management?
RCM is the set of steps a practice follows to get paid for the care it provides: checking insurance, getting approvals, coding the visit, sending the claim, posting the payment, chasing what is unpaid and billing the patient for their share. When any step is weak, money arrives late or not at all.
The three stages of the revenue cycle
- Before the visit: eligibility checks and prior authorization, plus credentialing and enrollment so providers can bill each insurer.
- Around the visit: charge entry, medical coding and claim submission through your clearinghouse.
- After the claim: payment posting, AR follow-up, denial management, old balance recovery and patient billing.
Four numbers that show if your cycle is healthy
- Days in AR: roughly how long it takes to get paid after a service.
- Clean claim rate: the share of claims accepted correctly the first time.
- Denial rate: the share of claims the insurer refuses to pay.
- Collection rate: the share of what you are owed that you actually collect.
We track the same four for every client, starting from a baseline audit, so improvement is measured and not guessed. Our guide to reading an AR aging report explains where these numbers come from.

Frequently asked questions
What does an RCM company do?
It manages the steps between a patient visit and final payment: insurance checks, approvals, coding, claim submission, payment posting, follow-up on unpaid claims, denial management and patient billing.
What is the difference between medical billing and RCM?
Medical billing usually means preparing and sending claims and collecting payment. RCM covers the whole cycle, including the checks before the visit and the reporting that shows how the cycle performs.
How are RCM companies paid?
Common models include a percentage of collections, a flat monthly fee or a fee per claim. We agree the model in writing before work starts.
Is RCM outsourcing worth it for a small practice?
It can be when billing tasks are delayed or one person is overloaded. A baseline audit shows how your claims perform today, so you can decide with facts.
Do you guarantee collections?
No. We never promise a specific collection amount, because payers, documentation and timing affect every claim. We promise the work, the tracking and a clear weekly report.
Arovia RCM does not guarantee collection outcomes. Please do not send patient information through the website or by email before agreements are signed.
